Return in the Clouds

Jesus’ ultimate answer to His disciples’ inquiry, pertaining to the “sign” of His coming, was this:

At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn.  They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory (Matthew 24:30).

Jesus, the “Light at the end of the tunnel,” finally will have arrived in the sky.  His angels will collect all of those who have believed and trusted in Him:

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other (Matthew 24:31).

This is a picture of the Rapture event.  All believers have the blessed assurance that, by way of this event, Jesus will rescue them from the wrath of God, which will be poured out during the seventh year of the 70th Week.  And for those believers who must suffer and die during the 70th Week, Jesus will raise them from death—to be with Him forevermore.
