Do you think that demons are trying to scare or influence me, and what can I do about it?
I found your website off Google in search of other people having witnessed demons or demonic possession. Since I was 12 years of age, I have been able to hear voices, most of the time I can hear them but I can't always understand what they are saying whether it be a language unheard or simply not hearing clearly everything that's said.
Just to put out there, I have been tested for mental disorders since I was a 14 (26 now) and have been to several different doctors which all have diagnosed me with a different disorder each time. I've been labeled with different things and have been medicated for them, but I've personally chosen to not take medicine because I maintain self-control over it and don't let it interfere with daily life.
Now that I am older, I rarely hear these voices but now I have an overwhelming and uneasy feeling of constantly being watched. I don't believe it is just paranoia because my pet dog has become increasingly protective over me and my child lately, as if something bad is in the room. On a handful of occasions, I've seen a few things too. One was a woman's face. Her eyes were completely black, and her mouth was stretched wide open as if she didn't have a jaw.
That occurrence frightened me so much that I was baptized and prayed over by priests and holy people. It's calmed since then, but I guess the reason for my email to you is to find some peace of mind. I would like a perspective on this situation from a realistic point of view because I feel torn between the medical and spiritual definition of what is going on. I am afraid that if it is serious, I should seek some relief of protection for my daughter. Thank you for you time.
From what you have described, it seems likely to me that you have been negatively affected by some type of demonic force or forces. Of course, most medical personnel will not acknowledge the possibility of supernatural influences. So they have had to think of some natural explanation for the phenomena that you have described to them, and the simplest and most common reason (in their minds) is that you have a mental disorder.
I think it certainly is possible, if indeed there is something demonic in your house, that your dog could sense it and become increasingly protective of you and your daughter. Of course, your dog would not have the means to combat or stop this force. I believe that the best way to resist evil supernatural forces is to have a strong faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to be filled with God's Holy Spirit. God alone can control negative spiritual entities that are attempting to influence or harm us.
I can give you an example that happened to me. Several years ago, I moved in with my mom because she was elderly, lived alone, and needed assistance. Every so often, she would tell me about the "dancing lady" that sometimes would appear in her bedroom in the middle of the night. My mom was very "with it" mentally and was not prone to fantasies, so I did not think she was imagining this.
It had been going on for some time before I moved in. Initially, the "lady" would appear for a minute or two and then disappear. Over time, though, she stayed longer and longer, gradually coming closer to the bed, and sometimes making haunting moans. This petrified my mom, and she wanted me to be in the same room with her at night. So I moved a small bed into her room and slept there. The "dancing lady" never returned again for the next couple of years that my mom was alive.
After she died, I went back to sleeping in my own bedroom. No one else was in the house. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I would wake up feeling an eerie, evil presence in my room. At times, it was right behind me in my bed. Occasionally, it would be accompanied by a distinct red glow in the room.
I even remember as a kid in that bedroom that those things would happen sometimes. It always totally creeped me out. After I moved out of the house and to another state, it never happened to me again until I moved back into the house and my mom had died.
I've always been a believer that Jesus is Savior, Messiah, and Lord. Also, I've believed that the Holy Spirit of God has power over all evil. As a kid, though, it never occurred to me to ask God to get rid of whatever evil force that occasionally would visit my bedroom. I guess I figured it was just my imagination. But as an adult, I knew that Satan and demons were very real, and I had learned that God can do anything on our behalf.
So whenever that freaky malevolent entity would be in my room at night and wake me up, I began saying, "Heavenly Father, in the name and by the blood of Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I command the evil force in this room to leave NOW!" Immediately, I would not feel its presence anymore; it would just leave until maybe a few nights later, when it would return again.
Plus, I began speaking directly to it and saying things like the following:
I feel that anyone with a strong faith that God can conquer any and all evil, and who is striving to do God's will in his/her life, has the capability of dealing with evil supernatural situations similar to the way that I did. I also think it is important to keep in mind what Paul said about the "armor of God":
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:10-18)More details about this can be found in my Armor, Spirit, and Angelic Assistance section, which I wrote in the early 1990s. I will pray that God will resolve your situation and permanently cast the evil spiritual force or forces away from your house and not be a threat to you or your daughter. God bless.
