God sent the angel Gabriel to the esteemed prophet Daniel.  Gabriel told Daniel

• about seventy “weeks” of years, which is
• a period of 70 × 7 = 490 years,
• decreed by God for Daniel’s people, Israel (Daniel 9:21-24).

At the end of of the prophesied period—that is, at the very end of the age—the following things will culminate for Daniel’s people, Israel (Daniel 9:24):

• transgression will be finished,
• sin will end,
• an atonement for wickedness will be made,
• everlasting righteousness will ensue,
• vision and prophecy will be sealed, and
• the most Holy Place and most Holy One will be anointed.
